	1Samuel 30
1Samuel 30:1	And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
1Samuel 30:2	And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.
1Samuel 30:3	So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
1Samuel 30:4	Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
1Samuel 30:5	And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
1Samuel 30:6	And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
1Samuel 30:7	And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
1Samuel 30:8	And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
1Samuel 30:9	So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.
1Samuel 30:10	But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.
1Samuel 30:11	And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water;
1Samuel 30:12	And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
1Samuel 30:13	And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.
1Samuel 30:14	We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.
1Samuel 30:15	And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.
1Samuel 30:16	And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
1Samuel 30:17	And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.
1Samuel 30:18	And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
1Samuel 30:19	And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
1Samuel 30:20	And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David’s spoil.
1Samuel 30:21	And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to abide at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them.
1Samuel 30:22	Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.
1Samuel 30:23	Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.
1Samuel 30:24	For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.
1Samuel 30:25	And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel unto this day.
1Samuel 30:26	And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;
1Samuel 30:27	To them which were in Bethel, and to them which were in south Ramoth, and to them which were in Jattir,
1Samuel 30:28	And to them which were in Aroer, and to them which were in Siphmoth, and to them which were in Eshtemoa,
1Samuel 30:29	And to them which were in Rachal, and to them which were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to them which were in the cities of the Kenites,
1Samuel 30:30	And to them which were in Hormah, and to them which were in Chorashan, and to them which were in Athach,
1Samuel 30:31	And to them which were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men were wont to haunt.

	Proverbs 24
Proverbs 24:1	Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
Proverbs 24:2	For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
Proverbs 24:3	Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
Proverbs 24:4	And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Proverbs 24:5	A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
Proverbs 24:6	For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Proverbs 24:7	Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
Proverbs 24:8	He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
Proverbs 24:9	The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
Proverbs 24:10	If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
Proverbs 24:11	If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
Proverbs 24:12	If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
Proverbs 24:13	My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
Proverbs 24:14	So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
Proverbs 24:15	Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
Proverbs 24:16	For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Proverbs 24:17	Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
Proverbs 24:18	Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
Proverbs 24:19	Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;
Proverbs 24:20	For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
Proverbs 24:21	My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
Proverbs 24:22	For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
Proverbs 24:23	These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
Proverbs 24:24	He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
Proverbs 24:25	But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
Proverbs 24:26	Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
Proverbs 24:27	Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
Proverbs 24:28	Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
Proverbs 24:29	Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
Proverbs 24:30	I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
Proverbs 24:31	And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
Proverbs 24:32	Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
Proverbs 24:33	Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
Proverbs 24:34	So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

	2Corinthians 3
2Corinthians 3:1	Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
2Corinthians 3:2	Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
2Corinthians 3:3	Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.
2Corinthians 3:4	And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
2Corinthians 3:5	Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
2Corinthians 3:6	Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
2Corinthians 3:7	But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
2Corinthians 3:8	How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
2Corinthians 3:9	For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
2Corinthians 3:10	For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
2Corinthians 3:11	For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
2Corinthians 3:12	Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
2Corinthians 3:13	And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
2Corinthians 3:14	But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.
2Corinthians 3:15	But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.
2Corinthians 3:16	Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.
2Corinthians 3:17	Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2Corinthians 3:18	But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

	Luke 6
Luke 6:1	And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
Luke 6:2	And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
Luke 6:3	And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungered, and they which were with him;
Luke 6:4	How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
Luke 6:5	And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Luke 6:6	And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
Luke 6:7	And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
Luke 6:8	But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
Luke 6:9	Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
Luke 6:10	And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
Luke 6:11	And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
Luke 6:12	And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
Luke 6:13	And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
Luke 6:14	Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
Luke 6:15	Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,
Luke 6:16	And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.
Luke 6:17	And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
Luke 6:18	And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
Luke 6:19	And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
Luke 6:20	And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Luke 6:21	Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
Luke 6:22	Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
Luke 6:23	Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
Luke 6:24	But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
Luke 6:25	Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
Luke 6:26	Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
Luke 6:27	But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Luke 6:28	Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Luke 6:29	And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
Luke 6:30	Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Luke 6:31	And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Luke 6:32	For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
Luke 6:33	And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
Luke 6:34	And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
Luke 6:35	But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Luke 6:36	Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Luke 6:37	Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Luke 6:38	Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:39	And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
Luke 6:40	The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
Luke 6:41	And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Luke 6:42	Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
Luke 6:43	For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Luke 6:44	For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
Luke 6:45	A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Luke 6:46	And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Luke 6:47	Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
Luke 6:48	He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Luke 6:49	But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
