1Kings 15, Psalms 119:105-144, Ecclesiastes 2, 1Peter 4

	1Kings 15
1Kings 15:1	Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.
1Kings 15:2	Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
1Kings 15:3	And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
1Kings 15:4	Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
1Kings 15:5	Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
1Kings 15:6	And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
1Kings 15:7	Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
1Kings 15:8	And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
1Kings 15:9	And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.
1Kings 15:10	And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
1Kings 15:11	And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.
1Kings 15:12	And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
1Kings 15:13	And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
1Kings 15:14	But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa’s heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.
1Kings 15:15	And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.
1Kings 15:16	And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
1Kings 15:17	And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
1Kings 15:18	Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
1Kings 15:19	There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
1Kings 15:20	So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
1Kings 15:21	And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
1Kings 15:22	Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
1Kings 15:23	The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
1Kings 15:24	And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
1Kings 15:25	And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
1Kings 15:26	And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
1Kings 15:27	And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
1Kings 15:28	Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.
1Kings 15:29	And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:
1Kings 15:30	Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.
1Kings 15:31	Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
1Kings 15:32	And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
1Kings 15:33	In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
1Kings 15:34	And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

	Psalms 119
Psalms 119:105	NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalms 119:106	I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.
Psalms 119:107	I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.
Psalms 119:108	Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.
Psalms 119:109	My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.
Psalms 119:110	The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts.
Psalms 119:111	Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.
Psalms 119:112	I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.
Psalms 119:113	SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.
Psalms 119:114	Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
Psalms 119:115	Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.
Psalms 119:116	Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
Psalms 119:117	Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.
Psalms 119:118	Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.
Psalms 119:119	Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.
Psalms 119:120	My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.
Psalms 119:121	AIN. I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors.
Psalms 119:122	Be surety for thy servant for good: let not the proud oppress me.
Psalms 119:123	Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.
Psalms 119:124	Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.
Psalms 119:125	I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.
Psalms 119:126	It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.
Psalms 119:127	Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.
Psalms 119:128	Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
Psalms 119:129	PE. Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.
Psalms 119:130	The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Psalms 119:131	I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.
Psalms 119:132	Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name.
Psalms 119:133	Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
Psalms 119:134	Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts.
Psalms 119:135	Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.
Psalms 119:136	Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.
Psalms 119:137	TZADDI. Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments.
Psalms 119:138	Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.
Psalms 119:139	My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.
Psalms 119:140	Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.
Psalms 119:141	I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts.
Psalms 119:142	Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
Psalms 119:143	Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights.
Psalms 119:144	The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.

	Ecclesiastes 2
Ecclesiastes 2:1	I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity.
Ecclesiastes 2:2	I said of laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What doeth it?
Ecclesiastes 2:3	I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.
Ecclesiastes 2:4	I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards:
Ecclesiastes 2:5	I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits:
Ecclesiastes 2:6	I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees:
Ecclesiastes 2:7	I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me:
Ecclesiastes 2:8	I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.
Ecclesiastes 2:9	So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me.
Ecclesiastes 2:10	And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour.
Ecclesiastes 2:11	Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 2:12	And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.
Ecclesiastes 2:13	Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.
Ecclesiastes 2:14	The wise man’s eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all.
Ecclesiastes 2:15	Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.
Ecclesiastes 2:16	For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.
Ecclesiastes 2:17	Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
Ecclesiastes 2:18	Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.
Ecclesiastes 2:19	And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.
Ecclesiastes 2:20	Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 2:21	For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.
Ecclesiastes 2:22	For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun?
Ecclesiastes 2:23	For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity.
Ecclesiastes 2:24	There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.
Ecclesiastes 2:25	For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I?
Ecclesiastes 2:26	For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

	1Peter 4
1Peter 4:1	Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1Peter 4:2	That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
1Peter 4:3	For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
1Peter 4:4	Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
1Peter 4:5	Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
1Peter 4:6	For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
1Peter 4:7	But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1Peter 4:8	And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
1Peter 4:9	Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
1Peter 4:10	As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1Peter 4:11	If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1Peter 4:12	Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
1Peter 4:13	But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
1Peter 4:14	If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
1Peter 4:15	But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.
1Peter 4:16	Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
1Peter 4:17	For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1Peter 4:18	And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
1Peter 4:19	Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
